Founded in 2019, Jersey Shore Car Shows Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization built on the idea of using automotive related events to pay it forward and give back to our community and local charities. We work closely with individuals and businesses within our community to raise funds and awareness for many unique and important causes.

In addition to helping others, we also maintain our own John K Mills Memorial Scholarship Fund which is awarded to a graduating high school senior who wishes to pursue a career in the automotive industry. A benevolence fund is also maintained to assist individuals or families in time of crisis, regardless of ethnicity, gender, or age.

About the John K. Mills Scholarship

 

The John K. Mills Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors or graduates that are planning on a career in the automotive trades. Whether it be in mechanics, auto body, restoration, engineering, or any other automotive trade, we encourage you to apply. Scholarship recipients are selected based on their leadership, community service, academic achievements, and commitment to an automotive trade or profession. The dollar amount of the scholarship may vary from year to year and is dependent upon the support the Jersey Shore Car Shows Foundation receives.

In order to apply and be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Resident of the State of New Jersey

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or high school transcripts for last 4 years if not yet graduated

• Acceptance letter to an accredited automotive career related program

 

Application Process

 

1. Complete the Scholarship Application - Download it HERE.

2. Type a Personal Statement of Commitment to the program you have chosen.

3. Submit a typed essay in 500 words or less stating why you chose an automotive related career and why you are deserving of this scholarship.

4. Submit at least two (2) letters of recommendation.   All letters of recommendation must have applicant's name, as well as the address, telephone number, and email address of the person writing the recommendation. Recommendation letters should address the applicant’s leadership, academic achievements, community service, and commitment to the program they have chosen.

5. Submit a copy of any current relevant certification(s) or licenses as well as a copy of your high school diploma (if you have graduated) and transcript of high school grades.

6. Copy of Acceptance letter to the program/school to which you plan to attend
